POOLSIDE GOSSIP is situated in Phase One of the collection of architecturally pedigreed and attached homes called Canyon View Estates. Canyon View Estates was built in 1963 and designed by the renowned architects Dan Palmer + William Krisel, considered some of the Godfathers of Mid-Century Architecture. Canyon View Estates is now considered one of the Mid-Century Modern jewels of the Desert. It was this reason the owner of POOLSIDE GOSSIP immediately took action when they heard one of the most desirable homes in CVE was going to be available, acquiring the property from a long-time owner - off the market in a private sale. The ultimate goal of the owner was to provide a residential Palm Springs setting that would not only duplicate, but surpass the luxury hotel experience. Something, they felt, that was lacking in the area. In addition, the goal was to be more accommodating to stays longer than a few days, and a home where one could entertain friends (discreetly, of course), should they wish - Truly living the Palm Springs Lifestyle. For this reason, POOLSIDE GOSSIP been compared to a miniature luxury resort for its finishes and attention to detail only found in the best hotels - and really only in a sophisticated residential environment. Having just completed it's extensive/ top-to-bottom renovation, POOLSIDE GOSSIP was named (in part) for the eight-by-five foot, iconic image of Slim Aaron's Poolside Gossip (1970) which immediately sets the tone as you walk into the space. It is this image of the famous Kaufman House - just down the street - that people around the globe identify with the Palm Springs Lifestyle. With 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a Den, and a dedicated Office - POOLSIDE GOSSIP can sleep 4 very comfortably for an infinite amount of time, with the Den providing a high quality (temporary) sleeping accommodation for an additional 2. The property is completely furnished with custom pieces designed and built especially for POOLSIDE GOSSIP, and also authentic vintage pieces (1960s, 1970s) that have been completely restored, reupholstered, and refinished - again, particularly for the property. The modern Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking/entertaining, and is appointed in stainless steel appliances, including a premium (GE Monogram) built-in refrigerator. (Cooktop is gas) Most notably, POOLSIDE GOSSIP is wired throughout with music in every room (even the bathrooms and Patio), all with separate controls for volume and on/off. The system can be controlled from the wireless remote provided, or more desirably - an iPhone or iPad. (Audio source options: iPod, Sirus/XM, Pandora, Internet Radio, CD). The Den has flat screen TVs with Time Warner Cable and Netflix. The bedrooms are both large and furnished with custom beds and headboards. (linens by Restoration Hardware) Each bedroom is equipped with flat screen TVs (Time Warner Cable, Netflix), remote controlled ceiling fans and built-in bedside tables on both sides. The Master Suite has a full length window and slider that leads out to the Patio area and allows the mountain views (when the shades are up, of course). The Master also has 2 sliding closets with a valet/dresser behind the original louver doors. Plenty of wardrobe storage for a multiple-month stay. While enjoying most of the appointments and advantages of the Master (but in a smaller package) the Guest Suite also has its own dedicated/private outdoor atrium with a built-in custom bench. The bathrooms are finished in identical luxurious, but understated materials found throughout the home (Glass, CaesarStone, Carrera Marble) both with a dual-head shower, Rain-head shower and a wash 'wand' - all with accurate temperature controls. Once outside on the Patio (which shares the identical polished concrete floors, and is furnished with a custom outdoor sectional) you quickly suspect where the other part of POOLSIDE GOSSIP was born: Being situated just off of the large pool and private setting spa.
