Thank you for visiting our Sand Castle listing. We are currently booked for our 2014 season and are not yet prepared to offer up a 2015 rental schedule. Please check back later in the year to see any updated information. Please Note: We DO NOT use Craigslist or any similar site AT ALL for advertising or renting out Sand Castle. We use VRBO / HomeAway ONLY. There have been recent scams on Craigslist for Delaware vacation rentals and we do not want any prospective renter to fall victim. Also: We are not yet prepared to accept reservations for the 2015 season. We want to first see how the 2014 season goes before we identify what weeks in 2015 could be available. We don't want to turn potential renters away, but we also don't want to commit to anything yet either. Our 2014 season concludes in mid-August. We will likely have a decision on 2015 by Labor Day. Thank you very much. Now for the good stuff: Sand Castle is a NEW 2014 listing and offers vacationers the best of both worlds: close proximity to the exciting atmosphere of Bethany Beach and the rest of the Delaware and Maryland seashore, but set apart in the relaxing 'oasis' of Bay Forest. While the beach seems to be the most obvious reason to vacation in this area of Delaware, it should be emphasized that fishermen will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their sport. The Indian River Bay is a short distance away and has motor boat access through Holt's Landing State Park and Harbor View Marina. Guests that decide they wish to bring a fishing boat need to understand that boats are not permitted parking within Bay Forest but that opportunities may be found in Millville or Ocean View. Surf fishing is popular at the Delaware Seashore State Park and charter boats for deep sea fishing can be found in Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth, DE. Sand Castle is situated in a friendly neighborhood of single family homes and villas that is a short walk or bicycle ride to the Clubhouse, basketball and lighted tennis courts, community fire pit (very cool), horseshoes and bocce, picnic areas and large children's play sets. We have opted for a Friday-to-Friday rental schedule. This would allow vacationers the opportunity to enjoy the beach for a full weekend at your destination rather than spending a weekend day (Saturday, the 'customary' changeover day) traveling, packing and unpacking. The Bethany Beach area is generally a 'drive to' vacation destination as opposed to one where most vacationers fly to, thus allowing more to be packed for travel. Because of this, we have opted not to provide linens and towels, enabling guests to pack as many or as few of these items rather than being limited to what is provided by the homeowner. Guests of course, have full use of the laundry facility in Sand Castle, should items such as beach towels need extra washing. Completed in late-summer of 2013, Sand Castle is the Seaport model of single family homes designed and built by NV Homes. It is 2800 s/f in size, has a two-car garage and a driveway where an additional two cars can be parked. On-street parking is available. The first floor has two bedrooms plus a large master bedroom suite. These sleeping areas are separated by the dining room, kitchen, living room and Morning Room. The front bedroom has a full-sized bed that sleeps two, the rear bedroom has two twin beds. There is a full bath located outside of these two bedrooms. The master bedroom suite has a queen bed, full-bath with deluxe walk-in ceramic tiled shower and double sink. The master bedroom has an adjacent 'sitting room' that contains a roll-top desk, two comfortable chairs with Ottomans and television - a perfect place to escape the commotion going on elsewhere in the house! Sand Castle has a second floor that has a 4th bedroom with a queen bed. All four bedrooms have televisions and ceiling fans. The dining room is on the first floor and can seat up to six.
