First of all, enjoy your cup of java in the morning and imagine that you're an eagle soaring over the most amazing scenery that God has bestowed upon us; that's what you will experience here at Black Bear. Black Bear Resort offers plenty to keep you busy with: fishing, hiking, putt-putt, swimming and tennis courts. The lodge has games, a pool table and a warm, inviting fireplace. Bring a book and relax at the gazebo, and oh, don't forget to use one of the fire pits at night while you reach out and grab a star or two. Outside of Black bear is a whole big adventure with Canaan Valley's Wildlife Refuge that habitats over 150 bird species, Canaan Valley Resort, Blackwater Falls State Park and Timberline Ski Resort. Visit the historic towns of Davis and Thomas with their unique shops, cafes, and antique stores. The Purple Fiddle in Thomas offers a blend of alt-country music & Whitegrass Cross Country Ski Center is proud of their organic cuisine. Dolly Sods is nature at her finest and Mt. Storm Lake (20 min) has a public boat access. Seneca Rock is a hiker's paradise and horseback riding with in a few miles. Sooo much to do so be sure to stay awhile.
