It has a large lanai with commanding 180 degree panoramic ocean views from 1700 foot elevation. It sits on the slopes of Mauna Kea, 2.5 miles above Laupahoehoe town, on the scenic Hamakua Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Go green in style in this meticulously maintained, luxury off-grid property with all new appliances, beds, linens, dish-ware, and furniture. A custom built, solar powered, automatic gate assures your privacy and security. Hamakua Green-house is a great base of operations to explore everything the Big Island has to offer. Sight-see the scenic Hamakua coast waterfalls, an erupting volcano at Volcanoes National Park, majestic Waipio valley, or white sandy beaches (on the Kona side of the island). Return home to your own private oasis on the mountain, to relax in the peaceful setting and endless ocean views, sipping local coffee, while you kick back and watch rainbows. Take a walk around the very private 14 acres, see the 43' seasonal waterfall located on the property and breath in the commanding 180 degree ocean views. Newly remodeled, both bedrooms have extremely comfortable queen beds. The master has its own tub and shower, and the second bedroom has a brand new adjoining bathroom and shower. There is a sofabed in the living room if needed, and a loft with a twin sized blow-up mattress. This luxury cottage is the perfect romanic getaway or family vacation retreat for discriminating travelers. Avoid the crowds and see all the beauty of the Big Island as if it were your own second home. Please note that there is no television at the Hamakua Green-house, by design. We bring our laptop and DVDs, but enjoy being disconnected from television. There is an iPod docking station so bring your iPod/music. There is 3G cell phone reception for Verizon, ATT, and others at the house, and we often use USB-based cell modems with laptop computers while there. Please check with your provider about coverage. We suggest staying at least a week to give yourself time to explore the entire Big Island and to relax at this wonderful property.
