Description

There is no better base camp for your stay in Alaska. Perfectly located to great fishing and points of interests. We would like to invite you to stay with us in our newly remodeled Alaskan bed and breakfast with its own wildlife museum. Centrally located. Spend the night in one of four beautiful Alaskan themed rooms with private baths OR in our 1800 sq ft apartment on the third level with two bedrooms and a loft, full bath and full kitchen. Dishwasher, washer and dryer, direct TV and view are included. When you spend the night in our bed and breakfast you awake to a full Alaskan breakfast in the morning and as you eat in the dining room, overlooking the private lake, you may have a chance to view wildlife. Your view of the Talkeetna Mountains is excellent as you talk to host Jim Huston about Alaska and his adventures. Jim is very creative and a true Alaskan. Our three rooms on the second level have a entrance of their own and a stairway to get to the rooms. Our Alaska Room features a queen bed and is based on a homesteaders cabin with your own indoor outhouse. Our Whale room features two queen beds and a private bath with scenic mountain scene. A 12 ft piece of Baleen is in the room. Our Polar Bear room includes a queen bed and polar bear decorations with you own private bath with tub. Our Denali room is located on the first floor with a private entrance. It has two queen beds and private bath with separate shower. A folding bed could be added to accommodate and extra sleeper. Jim's artistic talent was shown again with a painted mural of Mt. McKinley on the wall. Sit outside on our patio overlooking the lake with green lawns and start of a golf course. Watch the ducks and loons on our lake or take a paddle boat ride. Get your exercise by walking the two mile trail through the woods with many type of plants, wildflowers, birds and wildlife. Maybe you will enjoy riding over historic Hatchers Pass and go gold panning or just be adventurous and explore the many mines nearby. Come in March for the Iditarod Restart located three miles away on Willow Lake and stay to play in the Chamber of Commerces annual Official State Ice Golf Tournament, golf clubs provided. In the summer enjoy our farmers market. The Parks Highway gets closed on July 4th as our little town celebrates the 4th of July with a parade and whole community picnic. You would be welcome. Take a trip over scenic Hatchers Pass with its many gold mines and visit Historic Independence Mines. Fish Deska Landing, Willow Creek, Little Su or any of the many lakes in the region. Go rafting or canoeing at South Rolly or Nancy Lake. Willow has many lakes maybe you would like to take a sight seeing air tour to see all the beautiful lakes or over Mckinley.
