Now Taking Reservations for the summer of 2014! This is a beautiful 3000 square foot A-frame Log Home on spectacular 838 acre Birch Island Lake. The cool thing about this log home is that it is on a private island surrounded by 100+ year old oak and pine trees! Lots of privacy and truly a feeling of 'getting away from it all in the North Woods!' There is a causeway (dirt road) that was built to the island in the 1930s. A 2 hour drive from Minneapolis and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Stillwater. 5 bedrooms with the second floor dedicated to the master bedroom and bathroom suite. There is also a futon in the spacious three season screened porch and pull-out sofa bed in the Great Room. So you would have room for at least 14 friends/family. 3 bathrooms - one on each floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed with the rest of the bedrooms containing a queen size bed. Enjoy whole pine logs running through the ceiling with a massive field stone fireplace in the family room with knotty pine logs on the interior. No manicured lawn here - this is a true North Woods experience with all the modern comforts. Championship and par 3 golf courses 1 mile away with indoor swimming pool, sauna, workout room, tennis courts, basketball court, shuffleboard court, kids play ground and restaurant. ATV trailhead is 2 miles from the home with the snowmobile trail passing right in front of the home on the lake in the winter time. Trail system has hundreds of miles to explore! Hayward is a 45 minute drive, Spooner is a 25 minute drive, and the best pizza, steaks and burgers are only 10 minutes away. Enjoy the level 2 acre lot with your own private peninsula and sugar sand beach and swimming area. The large garage has plenty of covered parking. There are 2 outdoor showers to rinse off after you are done swimming, etc. There is an outdoor stone fire pit with complimentary fire wood. Email us if you would like more pictures!
