The River Retreat Cabin is a open floor plan cabin with a lot of character and mountain charm. It is all wood inside with vaulted ceiling, field stone fireplace and outside hot tub. The cabin has rustic and log furniture, making it the complete mountain getaway. From this cabin you have a great view of the mountains, our stocked pond, and the horse stables and pasture. This cabin is situated on a 50 acres tract. There are walking trails along the river and through the woods for guest to enjoy nature. You will have access to some of the east coast's best native trout fishing from this cabin. We are just minutes from Elkins, WV and Canaan Valley, WV. This cabin is located within Monongahela National Forest, 6.3 miles off of Route 33 east. It is one of the few rental cabins inside the national forest. Our property is located along of the Glady Fork River and adjoins the Monongahela National Forest and Allegheny Trail. There is an onsite Orvis Guide available for guide trips or lessons. The property is in a semi-remote area of the Monongahela National Forest. The wildlife is plentiful in this area of West Virginia. We have direct access to the national forest and stocked trout streams. There are plenty of areas for West Virginia mountain biking, fishing, hunting, horse back riding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, or just taking a nature walk. We are only minutes down the road from some of the best sites in the national forest; Spruce Knob Lake, Spruce Knot Lookout, Gandy Creek, Sinks of Gandy and much more. There are no additional fees for horse storage. Our rates donât change throughout the year, just weekend / holidays and weekday prices. For a short drive, you canât beat our prices.
