Beautiful log home with three bedrooms (Sleeps 9 due to two double sofa beds in living room), two and a half bathrooms, and an infrared sauna. Master bedroom features master bath, infrared sauna, and deck that feels like you're in a tree house. Three stories, each with their own bathroom; handicap accessible 1st and 2nd floors only. Bruno stair lift from 1st to 2nd floors, and grab bars in lower two bathrooms. Beautiful mountain views out huge windows and from three decks. This listing is located in the Southfork Area of Eagle River, Alaska, which is a suburb of Anchorage (20 miles north) off the Glenn Highway. Wildlife and bird viewing opportunities include: Grizzly and black bear, moose, lynx, snowshoe hare, beaver, porcupine, squirrel, bald eagle, great horned owl, raven, magpie, blue jay, woodpecker, robin, black capped chickadee, pine grosbeak, spruce grouse, Bohemian waxwing, salmon and much more. Mother moose with two twin calves just born in my neighbor's yard. Mother grizzly with 2 cubs moved through the subdivision last week. Wildlife viewing opportunities include: Moose, grizzly and black bear, lynx, coyote, squirrel, snowshoe hare, porcupine, beaver, great horned owl, bald eagle, woodpecker, raven, magpie, plover, spruce grouse, robins, chickadee and more. Southfork River Waterfall less than one mile from cabin, which has a king salmon run in July; bears take advantage of this run. Responsible people in the neighborhood have bear proof trash cans or put out the trash the morning of pickup so the bears won't see humans as a source for food. Residents respect the bears and give them the space to live and roam. Cabin is next to Chugach State Park, and is surround by the Chugach Mountains; many of the peaks and ridges are visible from the cabin and its three decks. This area is a hiker's paradise; use caution and carry bear spray and air horn. We are highly forested and close to a river. End of description.
