Description

Windsong is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Built for comfort, offering two great rooms (adults in one, children in another?), the house has been recently extensively remodeled. At that time, we added a large great room, replaced the siding with quarter log siding, and replaced all windows with Andersens. The house sits on two acres and overlooks a private pond. On the lower deck is the 8-person hot tub, where one can relax in the warm jetted water under the stars! The house features four bedrooms (two with a queen bed each, one with a king bed, and one with two twin beds), and two full baths (one with a double Jacuzzi and shower, the other with a tub/shower); each bathroom is roomy. The kitchen is fully equipped with a smooth-top stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator/freezer, and all the kitchen gadgets needed for gourmet meals (even a cookbook library specializing in books on comfort food and ski weekend meals!). Amenities include wireless internet, satellite TV (two TVs, one a 40-inch flat screen Sony), a CD player, a DVD player, and a VCR/DVD player, washer/dryer, an 8-person hot tub, a woodstove, and a raised hearth stacked stone wood burning fireplace, and a POOL TABLE! Three ceiling fans, iron/ironing board, hairdryers in each bathroom, too. There are two large decks -- one wraparound -- which overlook the private wooded pond area. Across from the front of the house is a beautiful serene mountain view. All linens (sheets, blankets, towels, kitchen linens) are provided for guests' convenience. Also provided are soaps, shampoos and body lotions, and kitchen soaps and detergents and laundry detergent. The house is charmingly decorated in a a cow motif -- the owners have been collecting cow items for over 25 years, and have amassed quite a collection! There is always something fun to do, all seasons, in Canaan Valley! In the winter, skiing and winter sports reign supreme. Windsong is five miles from either the Canaan Valley ski resort or the Timberline ski resort and is also close to the White Grass Cross-country ski area and to the Blackwater Falls State Park. Also in Canaan Valley are facilities for snowshoeing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and tubing. In the summer, there is a heated outdoor pool open to the public at the Canaan Valley Lodge, and the public is also able to golf at the 18-hole golf course there. Horseback riding is close by, as well as kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, motorcycling, etc. IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT RATES: the minimum rate listed is the rate prorated for one night of a seven night's stay at summer rates. Also Note: 3 day rental rate for winter: $800 plus tax. We also rent for 2 day stays; the two-day rate is approximately $600, including taxes and fees.
