Arguably the nicest log home rental opportunity in the New River Gorge area. There is unique privacy for guests as the cabin is on 45 acres located just off the intersection of Rt. 19 and Rt. 60. There are outstanding views from the hiking paths with a mountain top site for year-round sunset watching and star gazing. Plenty of challenging mountain biking opportunities. Enjoy seasonal opportunities including berry picking, sleigh riding and wildlife watching. Inside the cabin has a huge stone fireplace with firewood provided and an outdoor fire pit (and picnic table). XM radio, premium cable, 4 new flat screen televisions, wireless internet, cell phone coverage, dishwasher, washer/dryer for the comfort of guests gives you modern comforts in a country setting. There is a catch and release stocked pond with no fishing license required on the property. This is a nicely decorated true log home-not one piece of drywall. The kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking and grilling needs. Large lower master suite with new king size memory foam mattress. There is an additional ½ bath off the vaulted living room, dining area and kitchen (with eat-in counter). Upstairs there are two bedrooms-one queen bed and one full and a loft with a futon. There is a nice sized bathroom upstairs as well. Out front there is a 48â long porch with Adirondack chairs and a swing. Off the living room is a large screen enclosed patio with a large hot tub/Jacuzzi with outdoor speakers to enjoy the XM radio. There is also a table to enjoy meals outside. In the event that the Chestnut is not available give us a call as other lodging options are available on the 70 acre property. You are approximately 5 miles from the New River Gorge Bridge, the visitorâs center and the access road down to the New River (Fayette Station). Multiple rafting companies as close as 5 miles.There is a âFoodlandâ grocery store within two miles for your convenience. You are 15 minutes from Summersville Lake, 15 minutes to Hawks Nest State Park and 50 minutes from Winterplace Ski Resort. Fred and Brenda are onsite to provide check-in information and to assist and provide information to help you enjoy your stay. The guest book is filled with wonderful reviews and a great source for recreation and dining ideas.
