Description

Albion Bed and Breakfast is a lovingly restored 1907 building, that has been part of the campus of the Albion Normal School. Our building was the training school for student-teachers from 1891 until it closed in 1951 and has plenty of carefully restored historic charm. It can be rented as a whole (group rental w. communal kitchen) or partially (rooms and/or suites). It has 3 suites, 4 bedrooms (one is a large bunk/game room), 7 bathrooms, three full kitchens and one kitchenette. It sleeps 29 in regular beds, to be extended to 44 with comfortable folding beds/hide-a bed/futon beds and additional floor mattresses. Also there are 3 baby beds available. There are in addition two large community rooms (23'x33' converted classrooms). One is used for communal Dining off the largest kitchen (16'x22'). Another as Multipurpose Hall with a 13ft high ceiling and a set of chandeliers w. large screen TV, ping pong, or set up for dancing/lectures (folding chairs available) etc. In the equally large Bunk/game room you can find Pool, Foosball and Air hockey games. We have lawns and garden on three sides with a Majestic 80ft Dutch Poplar (Populus Albus) with tire swing centered on the south lawn with lots of shade. Outdoor chairs, gas grills, barbecue and fire pit are available. There is a functioning natural bakery ('Albion School House Bakery') on site making fresh organic breads, rolls and tasty goodies like blueberry walnut muffins and oatmeal cookies. In our Library Room you can relax with one of our numerous books or use our Wifi for your convenience. Every bedroom has a a TV for watching movies from our extensive movie library. We are 20 minutes away from Mount Harrison with Pomerelle Ski Resort, a reliable beautiful winter sports area with lovely hiking in summer. Also Lake Cleveland is very close and great for fishing, picnicking and hiking through beautiful flowered meadows. The City of Rocks and Castle Rock (35 minutes away) are famous with climbers all over the world and you can also have family fun hiking/climbing in the area, even book their Climbers Experience program or try a swim in the close by Hot Springs in Almo.
