Description
**Availability has changed. Please check calendar.** Come and enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains, in our charming secluded home. Located on a private 2 acre lot, surrounded by aspen and evergreen trees, our home is the perfect mountain getaway. We are located at 8100 feet, where the air is crisp, and the skies are blue almost 300 days per year. If it is privacy and quiet that you desire, then this is the place for you. As you turn the corner of the driveway, you will see the home with its wall of windows, and a wrap-around deck. Curl up with a good book on the hammock. Or have a cocktail, while sitting on the comfortable Pottery Barn patio set. It is not uncommon to be greeted by deer or elk in the mornings, or see a fox dart across the lawn at dinnertime. And, if you stand in just the right place, you can see Denver International Airport (60 miles away.) Although it is a very private area, we are still easily accessible to I-70 (5 minutes) and downtown Denver (35 minutes.) We are 1 hour and 15 minutes from Summit County, which has 3 world class ski areas; Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Breckenridge. Vail is only 30 minutes past that. But if you want to hit the slopes closer to home, Loveland is only 35 minutes away. Would you rather snowboard? Perfect! Echo Mountain is 45 minutes via I-70 or 35 minutes via mountain roads. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is required from Oct. through May. The mountains aren't all about skiing, however. Summer is a wonderful time to see this part of Colorado, with many things to do. Central City (30 minutes) has the historic Central City Opera House, which was built by Welsh and Cornish miners in 1878. Blackhawk (20 minutes) has numerous casinos. Idaho Springs (10 minutes) is home to the original Beau Jo's Pizza, and Tommyknocker Brewery. The Indian Hot Springs are, also, great after a day on the slopes. Downtown Evergreen (15 minutes) is filled with unique local shops, great eateries, and the beauty that is Evergreen Lake. In the summer you can rent a paddle boat, do some fishing, or simply take a stroll around the lake. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is 20 minutes down the hill, and entertains the masses all summer with their concerts and film series. Lake Dillon (1 hour) is beautiful in the summer for camping and boating. The house itself has 3 stories; one master suite upstairs, the main floor and the entertainment room and laundry room downstairs. The master suite overlooks the great room. There is a king bed with a TV, and a large closet. There is an attached bathroom. The main floor consists of the kitchen, a full bathroom, the great room, dining area, wood burning stove, and a bedroom with two twin beds, a dresser and small closet. On the lower level is a 46' TV, a microwave, to warm your cocoa or coffee; and a queen bed (this is all in one room.) The laundry facilities are in a separate room on this level. This part of Colorado is one of the best kept secrets in America. We have beautiful sunny days, cool evenings and scenery that will take your breath away. If you are visiting this part of the country, please consider staying here. You will be happy with your choice. Keywords: Mountain home, secluded, 2 acre lot, wildlife, large deck, hot tub, sleeps 6 (4 private), cathedral ceiling in great room.
