G Mamaâs Place is only one mile from Sturgeon Bay and minutes to Door Countyâs intriguing places and colorful events. Escape from your hectic world and recharge here. Choose to just settle in, or venture out and enjoy the delights of the area. Not only are there the usual conveniences, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, cable, VCR and DVD, but board games are stacked in the closet and a pool table ready. Amenities abound at this retreat for two adults. Many restaurants are within a 5 minute drive, a short bike ride or a long walk. However, if you decide to prepare your own food the efficiency apartment is equipped to make preparation convenient. There is a refrigerator, microwave, electric fry pan and hot plate. It has a coffee maker and toaster plus dishes, utensils and cookware. A gas grill is located just outside the door. The very comfortable queen sized, bed has newer linens and bedding. You will know you are somewhere special as you walk the short wooded path to your private entrance. As you round the corner of the house and approach your door there is the sound of water flowing over the rocks into a large natural pond. Goldfish hide in the pond; humming and song birds often gather at the nearby feeder. Mother Nature provides many of the truly unique amenities of G Mamaâs Place. Potowatomie State Park lends another dimension to the water/woods view â a sea of green trees in summer and vibrant orange, red and yellow ones in fall. You can swim or sunbathe right on the property. The water is quite shallow and thus tends to be warmer than many other open water swimming areas. You can use the old rowboat and row along the shore or even fish if you have your gear. If you are a kayaker and bring your own boat you can launch right from the shore. Bikers and runners can begin their activities from G Mamaâs Place. A golf course is close and likewise public tennis courts. At the end of a busy day you may want to refresh yourself with a sauna. Its pleasant warmth soothes achy, tired muscles. It warms an over-chilled body or can be taken just because it feels soooo good! Towels are provided for use in the shower/sauna. Mother Nature frequently provides spectacular sunsets. Not only are the sunsets beautiful but the mellow color displays that follow are memorable. The display may continue for a half hour or longer and is a time of peace and tranquility. The daytime noises of people and activity give way to the soothing sounds of nature settling down for the night. The beach, composed of both sand and a few stones, is a special place even when it gets dark. The fire pit is available for bonfires and the owner usually has handy the fixings for Sâmores. You can make your own evening snack over the fire. Memories are made when you stay at G Mamaâs Place.
