Description

We offer others the use of this very special house/lodge for family retreats. 2600 square feet of lodge space, plus a bunkhouse, on a two acre estate, with 252 feet of lake frontage. The lodge is nestled on the south side of Johnson Lake, an 88 acre all recreation lake. There are no restrictions on lake use, other than the normal boating rules. The frontage has a very nice sandy bottom, with a gradual drop, where children have a great time swimming and playing. The lake is deep and clean, and a real huge plus, it has no rocky area to damage props. Get soul food on the quiet morning in one of the 3 Kayaks, a small canoe or the old rowboat Great fishing for Musky, Bass, Walleye, Pan fish, and more. The lake level is very stable, and has not dropped like other lakes in the area. Experience God's nature all around you. We love to hear the loons and watch the Eagles off the deck. You can go on a hike, or bike (several bikes supplied free) with your group on one of the nature trails in the area, which includes the well known Bearskin Trail. Your teens can bike or walk to town, to the arcade and ice cream shop, or the movie theater, while the adults relax at home. The estate is secluded, yet within easy biking distance of the famous hub of the North Woods, downtown Minocqua, You and yours can make some great memories and learn interesting things, taking in the Logging show, racing your kids at go carting, or take them horseback riding. Have some fun playing mini golf, or play the full size great golf courses in the area. And many, many more interesting attractions and activities are within a few miles of the lodge. When you get hungry, the fully equipped kitchen will feed you well, or there are a variety of Restaurants like, the 'Island Cafe', or 'Paul Bunyan's' famous breakfast, or rub elbows with other vacationers and locals at 'The Thirsty Whale' night club on the water. We all love to go down town in Minocqua and visit the quaint shops to load up on some souvenirs, and especially the home made fudge and candy from the Candy shop. Enjoy the excellent entertainment of the twice weekly free ski show, downtown Minocqua, just west of the bridge. I forgot to mention that the volunteers who put on the free ski shows, also offer free ski training during the week. Exciting thing to do for you or your children. The interesting and fun lumberjack show in just East of hwy 51, right on Hwy 47, which is only a mile away. Rest easy in one of the five main floor bedrooms which all are appointed with queen beds. The lower level as well has two queen beds, a single, and a fold away cot. The separate game room/bunk house has a bunk bed a single, and a double convertible futon, and another queen. Beds for up to 20, Relax in the great room in Italian Leather couches and recliner, looking over the lake, or into the flames in the large stone fireplace. Get some board games out of the hall closet to play with the kids , or, entertain by watching DVDs or Direct TV in the evening. Watch off the huge deck at the umbrella tables as the active among you go fishing, ride Jet-skis, ski, wake-board, Tube, canoe, kayak, float, and swim in the 88 acre all recreation lake. A couple years ago, we had a pair of eagles build a nest in one of the huge old growth White Pines by the lake, just adjacent to our property. Eagles are flying and roosting close by all the time. It is fun to watch the young eagles grow, and the huge eagle flying around close by, and catching and bringing food to their young. The young eagle let you know when a parent is coming with food for them with their crys. Quite often we find Eagle feathers on the lawn, which make nice reminders on your mantle at home. A bunch of Bikes, 3 kayaks, a canoe, inflatable water toys and a rowboat are there for your use. A unconnected party offers us a Jet ski, a pontoon boat, and ski boat to rent to experienced boaters, at about a 50% discount from going rates. Always wear life jackets in the watercraft! 38 MO
