Description
From our dock, you can pontoon and fish around the legendary Manitowish chain of 10 lakes. Canoe down the Manitowish River all the way to the Turtle-Flabue Flowage. Afterward, take a swim and sit in the sun on the boathouse roof. You can take the boat to town (Manitowish Waters), poke around the shops and get an ice cream cone. The Discovery Center has a wide range of fun and educational activities. In the evenings, enjoy a drink on the front porch overlooking the lake. Talk with the family as you prepare dinner Later, gather round a firepit blaze, select one of the many books, take advantage of our wireless computer connection or watch television in front of the fireplace. Or, if you have any energy left, you can take the pontoon boat to the ski show or the Sunday concerts in the park. Built by Native Americans around 1930, my grandmother purchased the house in 1937. Since then we have kept the ambiance while adding modern amenities such as electricity and running water. Enjoy our Vilas County Up North home as my family has for over 70 years.
